Responsibilities
- Serve as the architectural lead and design authority across all phases of the SuccessFactors implementation.
- Enforce enterprise architecture principles, ensuring alignment with corporate ITs enterprise architect and HR technology strategies.
- Review and validate all design deliverables (solution blueprints, integration designs, technical specs) produced by the system integrator.
- Ensure data models, security frameworks, and integration patterns comply with company standards, Infosec principles, legal regulations (GDPR), and SAP best practices.
- Facilitate design review boards to approve or reject proposed solutions and ensure architectural consistency across modules.
- System Integrator Oversight
- Act as the governance interface between the internal project leadership and the external system integrator.
- Monitor and assess the integrators performance, deliverable quality, and adherence to project timelines and scope.
- Challenge implementation decisions when necessary to ensure compliance, maintainability, and scalability.
- Coordinate issue escalation and technical decision-making processes, ensuring transparency and traceability.
- Integration and Middleware Architecture
- Design conceptual and technical integration blueprints between SuccessFactors and connected systems via non-SAP middleware.
- Collaborate with middleware architects to define data flows, error handling, and message orchestration strategies.
- Ensure integration testing plans reflect business-critical use cases and performance thresholds.
- Risk and Quality Management
- Identify architectural risks early and propose mitigations.
- Support test strategy definition (unit, integration, UAT) and review test evidence from an architectural compliance perspective.
- Stakeholder Management
- Act as the trusted advisor to HR, IT, enterprise and integration architecture leadership teams.
- Present architectural decisions and trade-offs to senior stakeholders in clear business terms.
Requirements
- 5–10 years in SAP HCM / SuccessFactors delivery; minimum 3 end-to-end implementations as Solution Architect.
- SuccessFactors Expertise: Proven cross-module experience (Employee Central mandatory, plus at least three talent modules: Recruiting, Onboarding, Learning, Performance & Goals, Compensation, or Succession).
- Integration Background: Strong understanding of non-SAP middleware integration (e.g., Kong, Talend, MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services) and API-based connectivity.
- Governance Skills: Demonstrated experience enforcing architectural frameworks, vendor accountability, and compliance in multi-vendor environments.
- Soft Skills: Influential communicator with the confidence to challenge vendors respectfully and manage C-level expectations. Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
