We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join our international partners team, working remotely. Our client is present in the US, UK and Hungary.There is no time zone difference, as the development team is located in Hungary, with their office in Pécs, but you can also work fully remotely!
The company is involved in trading, and they have over 700 employees, with 60 based in Hungary, including 40 developers.
The project is an internal project of the company involving the integration of their existing warehouses with external marketplaces (e.g., Amazon, eBay, Walmart). They have multiple warehouses with over tens of millions of products, which are kept synchronized.
Technologies used in the company Spring Boot, Spring Batch, MariaDB, PSQL, Kubernetes. They use Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) and JetBrains applications.
The selection process consists of 2-3 rounds of interviews conducted online. There is no homework! The team you will be joining is led by a Tech lead and the product decisions are made by a PM.
Requirements
- Strong experience of Java (we work with LTS Java versions) – minimum 5 years of experience
- Intermediate level of English (Hungarian team, international company)
- Openness to testing your code
- Understanding the whole software development life cycle
- A strong team player with the ability to influence stakeholders when necessary
- Demonstrable ability to self-manage, be proactive, take ownership, build relationships, and drive solutions through from inception to production
- Good understanding of OO programming, SOLID principles and Clean Code
- Hands-on experience of using development tools like GIT, Maven, CI tools etc.
- Passion for clean, maintainable code
- Ability to meet deadlines, work within an international environment, exchange knowledge with colleagues, and be up-to-date with new trends
- Ability to analyze and solve programming tasks independently and proactively
Nice to have
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. Nagios, Prometheus/Grafana, Sentry)
- Experience with containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g. Jenkins)
- Experience with cloud services (e.g. Google Cloud)
