As a Senior Backend Engineer, youll be working on our data collection (.NET/C#) and data processing platform (Python) that enables large scale evaluation of medias. Youll be building and maintaining a scalable event-based system in an environment where what you do has direct and immediate impact. You will work tightly with our data engineers and with our collection developers to evolve the current system.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scaleable cross-platform ETL processes and pipelines
- Build, maintain and upgrade components in data collection
- Provider software engineering guidance and mentor junior colleagues
- Assume operational ownership of subsystems
- Participate in designing and implementing the future of our core systems
- Work is done in C# for collection components and Python for data processing.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in building and maintaining software systems using strongly typed OOP language. (Like JAVA, .NET/C#)
- Experience with Python
- Comfortable in handling large datasets
- Working knowledge of AWS services (S3, Kinesis, SQS, etc.) or equivalent in other cloud providers
- Comfortable with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
- Able to work with minimal supervision and frequently changing requirements
- Proactively working to improve the software
- Equally interrrested in data engineering and general software engineering areas
Complimentary skills
- Have experience with big data toolboxes
- Experience with SQL databases
- University degree in Computer Science or equivalent
