One of europes insurance and financial services groups is looking for a PL/SQL Developer. They provide top-quality products and services in the fields of IT Services and Operations.
Tasks
- Develop and test programs using SQL, PL/SQL for DW/BI applications
- Work with the business analysts to fully understand the business requirements and assure that the project deliverables are fulfilling these
- Develop technical specifications for projects
- Prepare test cases and strategies for unit testing, system and integration testing
- Perform code reviews to identify basic technical and logical errors
- Plan, coordinate and execute project activities to ensure timely completion
- Actively drive standardization and optimization of software development
- Leverage of offshore development teams
- Develop best practices to improve productivity and utilize programming principles, tools, and techniques to write solution codes
Requirements
- Strong Data Warehouse background, accumulating at least 3 years of experience in DW development in an enterprise environment
- Conceptual knowledge of relational database management
- Current experience and expertise with Oracle 11g or newer version
- High level knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL
- Understanding and/or interest in non-classical DW/BI approaches
- Basic knowledge of Cloud platforms
- Basic knowledge of Data Lake and Data Vaults
- Strong experience in working with Business Analysts or Business Customers for requirements definition and transforming these into technical design
- Demonstrated experience with software development life cycle methodologies, including agile
- Worked in environments that demand fast paced effective delivery under tight timelines
Advantages
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, R, Scala, etc..)
- Experience in SAS Enterprise Data Management suite and SAS programming/macros
- Hands on experience in one or many ETL tools
- Experience in at least one reporting/OLAP tool such as Microstrategy, SAS Visual Analytics, Power BI, Tableau.
- Strong aptitude and desire to learn new technologies and tools
- German language skills are a plus
- Self-driven with and ability to work closely with business analysts and development team to work towards quality product rollout
