In order to complete their European IT Tech Team they are now hiring a Network and Security Manager to lead a team of approx. 7 juniors.

Tasks

  • Lead, mentor and manage a team of network engineers and analysts (approx. 7 people) in the day-to-day development, operational, and maintenance of networks and networking infrastructure. Coordinate and delegate tasks as required.
  • Provide guidance, expertise and coaching to network engineers and analysts regarding activities and deliverables.
  • Conduct active management & monitoring, implementing changes & service requests, resolving incidents & problems, and lifecycle management across the following core areas
  • o WAN / SD-WAN / IP Sec
  • o LAN / WLAN
  • o Firewall / core network
  • o Remote access
  • o Public DNS
  • Plan and implement any improvement, modification, or replacement of network infrastructure components, ensuring the stable operation and efficient performance of company networks
  • Install, configure and maintain all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, etc.
  • Recommend improvements and enhancements to meet new or changing network demands.
  • Develop and implement policies for network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory, related documentation, and technical specifications information
  • Support compliance with internal and external regulations and standards including but not limited to NIST and Cyber Essentials.
  • Support Service Desk with incident troubleshooting, problem management and root cause analysis regarding network related issues
  • Engage, coordinate and collaborate effectively with IT Leadership and with adjacent divisions, namely IT Architecture, IT Demand Management and IT Asset Management.
  • Coaches others to build on strengths and improve on weakness listens to and encourages regular honest feedback
  • Manage third parties / third party relationships with key vendors and MSPs and manage governance fora e.g. monthly business reviews, reports, etc.

Requirements

  • College diploma or university degree in business, information systems, or technical related subject.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, tools, infrastructure and capabilities.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years hands-on, technical experience of working as part of a network operations team and wider infrastructure / IT team.
  • Strong professional accreditations / certifications such as ITIL, Zero Trust, CISCO, Azure, CompTIA+, etc.
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience as part of a network operations team or wider infrastructure / IT team.
  • Experience working in the construction materials / industrial manufacturing sector.
  • Language English (Fluent)
  • Effective negotiation skills to be able to facilitate collaboration with internal stakeholders, vendors and MSPs
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage and mentor a team
  • Strong stakeholder management skills (all directions)
  • The ability to translate business requirements into viable technical solutions
  • The ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experienced with multiple networking software products, platforms and vendors.
  • Strong vendor management skills, with experience managing third-party relationships
  • Motivated stays motivated and can deal with resistance
  • Proven experience of working in a federated matrix model.
