We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Specialist with expertise in Linux operation, particularly in the area of backup. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the end customer, BMI, as a part of the operations team, providing 24/7 support.
- Be available for on-call duty as required.
- Ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of backup solutions, with a focus on technologies such as TSM and/or VEEAM.
- Administer Linux systems and perform necessary hardening tasks.
- Develop and maintain scripts using languages such as Bash, Perl, Python, or similar (Java, JavaScript skills are also welcome).
- Demonstrate expertise in security, compliance, and resilience, including the definition of regulations, planning, review, strategies, and implementation.
- Utilize tools such as Jira/Confluence or comparable products for effective project management and collaboration.
- Leverage experience in an enterprise environment to deliver high-quality solutions.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of backup solutions, specifically TSM and/or VEEAM.
- Experience as a Linux administrator.
- Proficiency in Linux hardening techniques.
- Scripting skills with at least 1-2 languages such as Bash, Perl, Python, or similar (Java, JavaScript skills are also desirable).
- Familiarity with security, compliance, and resilience, including the ability to define regulations and implement strategies.
- Proficiency in Jira/Confluence or comparable products for effective project management.
- Experience working in an enterprise environment.
- Windows experience is highly desirable.
- Fluent German language skills at a native level.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- High operational readiness, including the ability to handle on-call duties.
