This role involves close collaboration with function heads, key stakeholders, and end users to understand strategic objectives and functional requirements. Propose business process improvements, design solutions aligned with business needs and produce comprehensive documentation. Key responsibilities also include developing system functionality, creating and executing test scenarios, and leading training sessions for both key and end users.
In addition to project work, the IT Application Expert provides advanced support for incidents and change requests related to existing business applications. Within the IT organization, addresses more complex issues and supports first-level support by pre-evaluating incoming user requests.
The position includes working in partnership with the Business Owner to co-lead projects from the IT side.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development and implementation of IT solutions
- Ensure high quality project execution by proper planning, regular status updates and timely escalation as needed
- Manage vendor selection procedure for business application implementations, manage vendors during the projects
- Manage day-to-day co-operation with vendors in the supervised area
- Deliver first and second level advanced support for all PPF applications to key and end users within the entire PPF group. Register and maintain all incidents and change requests in the Servicedesk system.
- Execute the incident resolution process for significant systems problems, involving communicating with impacted user community, internal and outsourced IT colleagues, vendors and business community
- In case of necessity escalate incidents to IT Business Solution Director or a third party (vendors of the implemented solution)
- Report incident status updates and resolutions to key and end users
- Report on project updates to project team and IT Business Solution Director
- Write project documentation, project planning, time planning, test plans, training material
- Execute test plans within an application project together with selected key users
- Provide user training within an application project
- Ensure high availability and performance of applications in accordance with standards and policies
- Ensure that application conditions are monitored and promptly address any service-affecting issues
- User account management for assigned business applications. Follow the PPF access right management policy while handling access right modification requests.
- Assist in the execution of the Quarterly system maintenance activities
- Identify improvement needs and align with IT Application and Infrastructure managers on the implementation of improvements
- Contribute to the design and execute annual testing of Disaster Recovery plan. Ensure that supervised applications are compliant with the DR policy
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in support for the IT applications of a mid-size company (500 users)
- Proven business process knowledge about supported areas with solid understanding of business functions on conceptual and detailed level
- 3+ years of experience working with helpdesk systems or other incident tracking systems
- Proven experience in co-operation with remote colleagues
- 3+ years of experience managing external vendors and consultants within projects and in day-to-day support activities.
- At least 3 years of experience in delivering projects, working as senior project resource
- Experience with Navision/MS Dynamics or any other ERP system
- Hands-on MS SQL Server, or other database type knowledge
- Experience working in multinational environment
