As a DevOps Engineer you are taking part in the next phase of our Agile Transformation, to provide the best services towards our customers and to improve our system landscape. Our DevOps Engineers work closely with the agile development teams and together with them take end-to-end responsibility of our environments, infrastructure and platforms.
Responsibilities/Tasks
- Design, develop, enhance and implement software integrations based on customer feedback
- Actively participate in software design process to ensure cloud-first, containerization, high availability and maintainability are part of the design
- Build, design, deploy, and maintain the implementation of Cloud solutions across multiple application projects in DevOps mode
- Select, configure, develop, support and scale the tools and technologies used to build highly scalable and manageable containerized cloud environments
- Provide technical guidance and expertise on containerization and orchestration strategies
- Contribute your know-how on database and data storage technologies
- Responsibility for investigating and resolving operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel
- Troubleshoot issues of systems and its logs and identify/ resolve problems proactively from test to production
- Develop and maintain our troubleshooting documentation
- Assess urgency of issues and facilitate follow-up and resolution accordingly including service quality initiatives to support product availability
- Implement automation of toil and boring, repetitive tasks (testing, packaging, dependency and configuration management)
- Write SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), design documentation to accomplish repetitive tasks. Create maintain and update cluster documentation
- Implement and enhance our level of automation of our software delivery life cycle (CI/CD pipelines)
- Analyze our systems regarding performance, security and availability
- Work closely with technology evaluation and reengineering teams on how to best use and continuously innovate our software delivery processes, support strategy-definition test and production platforms. Play an active role in DevOps Lab
- Provide direction and guidance to less experienced systems engineers
Requirements
- Professional and intellectual IT ability at university level -at least Bachelors degree
- Experience in OS on a Linux OS
- Expertise in network administration
- Knowledgeable on software development and scripting languages, to provide automation and self-service tooling
- Expertise in CI/CD best practices, experience with setting up and maintaining build and deployment pipelines
- Strong knowledge of container (orchestration) technologies
- Experience with various automation frameworks, regarding build, test, integration and deployment
- Knowledgeable on cloud solutions
- Strong knowledge of agile and DevOps methodologies
- Ability to monitor systems and resolve issues
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude and end2end mindset
- Entrepreneur and technology evangelist
- Analytical and conceptual skills with high problem-solving competence
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
