The Cyber Security Associate is responsible for protecting the organization’s computer systems and networks from security threats. This includes planning, implementing, and maintaining security measures, managing vulnerabilities, and operating cybersecurity tools. The role works closely with the Compute team to ensure IT systems are secure, reliable, and high-performing, and that users are aware of security best practices. The associate will also recommend security improvements and take part in cybersecurity evaluations and regular team meetings. A proactive, innovative mindset is essential.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain IT security measures
- Manage firewalls, monitoring tools, and other protective systems
- Research and suggest new security technologies
- Lead security projects and work with users and admins to solve issues
- Ensure the infrastructure is secure and up-to-date
- Conduct risk assessments, software reviews, and access audits
- Operate tools such as MS Defender, SIEM systems, Qualys, Darktrace, MS Purview
- Oversee antivirus solutions and M365 security services
- Support cybersecurity training and awareness
- Report on vulnerabilities and security progress weekly
- Assist in audits and ISO27001 certification processes
Experience
- 2+ years in IT security, compliance, or risk management
- Experience with antivirus, firewalls, patching, vulnerability scanning
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft environments (AD, Exchange, SharePoint, Windows Servers)
- Advantage: Linux, SOC operations, vendor management, multinational environment
