As a Cloud Platform Operations professional, you will be an integral part of a highly skilled and collaborative team responsible for managing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities
- GCP Infrastructure administration
- IaaS/PaaS configuration management
- Troubleshooting issues in the operational environments, including follow-up problem resolution, root cause analysis, and change implementation
- Service desk consulting and solving escalated cases (or passing them to L3)
- Perform operational tasks for multiple services and technologies according to agreed SLA levels
- Create knowledge articles that can help troubleshoot platform-related issues
- Monitor and maintain the healthy state of end-customer environments
- On a rotational on-call basis to provide out-of-business hours support as part of our 8×5, later 12×7 coverage
- Update support and operational documentation as required
- Ensure good change management practice is implemented as specified by ITIL4
- Integrate GCP monitoring solutions with internal incident management people, processes, and tools (e.g., Stackdriver, Cloud Operations Suite)
- Gather requirements and provide continuous feedback loops between IT security and the Cloud CoE team
Requirements
- Experience (2+ years) working within an operations team in a large, complex multinational environment
- Awareness of ITSM frameworks (Support, Delivery, and Implementation)
- Understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles and tools
- Knowledge of role-based access controls (RBAC) and organizational hierarchies
- Experience identifying and automating manual activities for service improvements
- Experience in dealing with multiple support groups that contribute to a service
- In-depth experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Knowledge of Google Cloud Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Linux and Windows-based solutions
- Familiarity with virtualization tools and solutions (e.g., Compute Engine, Kubernetes, GKE)
- Experience with GCP monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Stackdriver, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring)
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Terraform, or GCP CLI)
- Understanding of Firewalls and IT security principles
- Basic understanding and experience with ITSM systems (preferably ITIL4)
- Networking knowledge (OSI layers, TCP/IP, Routes, VPN, VPC)
- Experience with deploying and configuring Linux-based environments (RHEL, Debian, Ubuntu)
